THE HOLY SPIRIT
Key Scripture: John 16:7-15
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you."
The Holy Spirit should be acknowledged and submitted to!
Missionaries. Ministers can never be fruitful in all God desires them to be and do without the fellowship, fullness, leading and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the God head. The position third does not mean he is the least, in the old testament we hear more of God the Father, in the New testament before the day of Pentecost we hear more about God the Son Jesus. In times of the Apostles, till this day and till the coming of Christ Jesus, it is the manifestation of God the Holy Spirit.
We see Him at the very beginning of Creation.
The Holy Spirit is a Person. He is the Spirit of the Most High God and the Spirit of Jesus. He is the One who brought forth creation into existence at the spoken word of God the Father. "When You send Your Spirit, they are created, and You renew the face of the earth- Psalm 104:30.
He is who enabled and empowered God the Son Jesus to be and do all God the Father desired here on earth.
He is the power of God- "And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you- Romans 8:11"
He knows the mind of the Father and reveals to all who seek.
He has a will, desires and emotions. He is the author of the word of God. He is the Spirit of truth. He is the One who connects us to the Father and Son. He is the giver of gifts and the builder of fruits.
Jesus told His disciples " Stay in Jerusalem and wait for the Holy Spirit. Jesus knew that the disciples will not be able to function and be and do all the Father desires them to without the Person, Presence and Fullness of the Holy Spirit in and with them.
We live in a day and age where the Holy Spirit has long being overlooked. Knowledge, intellect has being placed above the Holy Spirit. Ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth. Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof.There is no more or less dependency on the Holy Spirit among some missionaries and ministers. It is more of the unclean spirit of self.
WE NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD. TOTAL DEPENDENCY AND SUBMISSION TO HIM AS HE EXALT JESUS AND JESUS ALONE!
