SELF- RIGHTEOUSNESS

The feeling or behaving as if what one does or say is always right and others wrong. But we have no righteousness of our own. 
Philippians 3:9 " No one is good or right.

When  missionaries/ministers depend on themselves, they are limited to their own current resources,instead of putting their faith in God and tapping into a much greater supply of help, strength, energy, motivation and encouragement. 
They will find themselves quickly running out of what they have. They lack the inner godliness, unable to meet the God needs and expectations on them.
God's presence will leave some like He did with Saul and will raise up someone like David to meet the needs. It is natural for the self-reliant Leader to feel angry, troubled and jealous. - KP Yohannan.
 

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8
 

This is what the Lord says:

“Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who draws strength from mere flesh
and whose heart turns away from the Lord. Jeremiah 17:5.
