BOUNDARIES
Defines the length, breath or heights the missionary/ minister can cover in respect of exercising his/her spiritual duties. It is that line that defines what you are responsible for and what you are not. Remember Saul who later was named Paul, was sent to the Gentiles. While Peter an Apostles to the Jews.
Boundaries can help keep the minister in focus and on point. Boundaries are given by the Holy Spirit in ensuring we stay within our God given purpose. Boundaries gives definition to our purpose.
Boundaries also protects us. It helps watch unto effectiveness in ensuring our soul well being. Meaning a healthy thought life, emotional life and a surrendered will to the Holy Spirit. This helps prevent burnout.
We have lots of toxic people around who will seek to suck the life out of us. Also there are time wasters.
There are also assignments we are not called to do or needs to met. Jesus did set boundaries when it came to where to go and where not to stay longer, even when the disciples said " Everyone is looking for you."
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!”
Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. Mark 1:35-39
